While there are a lot of good ways to cheat on an exam, there are only a few that are truly effective. Here are the most basic and effective exam cheating techniques:

• The Switch: One of the most popular and useful— the switch requires previously preparing questions on individual sheets of paper before the exam. On exam day, you bring the entire stack of papers to the exam, and you swap the official exam paper with one that has your previous answer. Take the sheet out gently and discreetly, and swap it with the exam sheet. Good— one question down, a few to go! Continue wiring on the sheet you removed. This technique is especially useful in exams where you have to write out answers or essays. Using this technique, you’ll be able to answer at least one question, but is only effective with less than five questions (the fewer the better). It’s a very effective cheating method, but it will only allow you to cheat on a limited number of exams.

  Exam sheets with markings or school logos are usually provided by professors or instructors. Remember to select one of those before your next exam so you can scan and print as many ‘official’ sheets as needed.

• The Mixed-in Switch: This is the same cheating technique as above 👆, but instead of just selecting one sheet of paper, you would select several questions and prepare them before the exam. Place the sheets of paper from your stack beneath your exam and begin writing on the new exam sheets— but instead of using your memory, simply copy & paste from your previously prepared answer and repeat for the other questions on the exam. You can be relatively relaxed because the sheet of paper you are copying from will look exactly like the exam question you already prepared beforehand. Be careful not to let the instructor see your written text at the beginning of the exam because it is unlikely that you wrote that much that quickly.

  If a professor or instructor approaches you, gather all of your sheets together, take a deep breath, and get ready to go to prison because cheating on a test is against the law… Just kidding- relax, it’s not illegal.

• The Cheat Pen: As very popular cheating method, this includes two options:

  • Buy a Cheat Pen: There is a vast selection of cheat pens, including “roll-out pens” which contain a hidden note inside of them as well as “smartpens” that have advanced features are sold in marketplaces such as Amazon and online retailers. • The Cheating White-out: Many people consider a water bottle as the best tool to cheat on a test, but we believe that a bottle of white-out is more effective. There are two ways to alter and use a white-out bottle (such as from the brand Tipp-ex): Replace the product label with your own, filling it out with exam content (we have Tipp-ex label templates for you, see the link below). The other option is to hide a prepared note with exam material beneath the original product label. But how do you do that? • Writing on the Table: The technique is as simple as it sounds and quite effective. Just write down all of the possible exam answers on your desk with a pencil before the exam. Pick a table, desk or seat (preferably one that that is dirty) and write lightly with a mechanical pencil. Not everything should be written in the same spot, but include the perfect amount of material. You will be surprised just how much you can write on the surface! One advantage of this method is that you can wipe it out with your finger when you are finished with the exam or if you think you will be caught. This cheating method will only work if you have access to the exam room beforehand, or the exam is held at the same location where you have taken classes.

• The Classic Cheat Note: We’re not saying it’s the best way to cheat on a test, but it’s worth noting because it’s a tried and true method due to its quick preparation and popularity. Bringing in a note with exam answers does has flaws, and will not guarantee success without studying, but it’s a classic method that we couldn’t leave out!
